Musings Of The Unconscious Mind

Think of this as my mental margin in the journal of my life. When things pop up out of the blue, I jot them down for later thought. Hope you feel the urge to add your own thoughts on them.

And in the beginning...

Death.

I often avoid funerals and all they entail. Mourning, sorrow, falsehoods, memories, grief, laughter, hypocrisy are the majority of that. But what really bothers me is the cessation of life.

Man is 'born' from living cells. Nothing is inert then suddenly becomes alive. That only happened with Adam & Eve. Since then, it's all been the continuation of that spark that was forced into Adam and Eve on that blessed day in Creation. Man & woman copulate and produce offspring from their own living cells. A subtle blending of the two bringing with it change and pro-creation. A magical process?? Yes, yes indeed no matter how mundane any Ob/Gyn may try to make it, it's sexier than life.

However, the coin has two sides. Pro-creation continues life but on the other hand, all life must cease in one form or fashion. As we see daily, that spark, that juice that we are imbued or gifted with, that life that is ours to cherish but for a short while, that breath will after a while, leave us nothing more than the empty, inert husk that Adam was prior to 'divine intervention'.

So what happens to that spark?

To truly understand or explore the answer to that question, first we must try to fundamentally understand where the spark first came from. The two schools of thought - Science vs. Religion collide squarely on this topic. For all we know the "Big Bang" that scientists speak of could have been when the two did meet first! It's quite easy to picture or imagine Science & Religion as a married couple :) But I digress.

Where does the spark come from? What possibilities exist? Let's work it out. Piece by piece until the puzzle is finished :)
